Sean Anetsberger is a figurative painter and art educator who reaches a global audience as The Art Coach. Classically trained at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut, he has built one of the largest art-education followings on the internet — more than four million people across platforms — without leaving the studio behind. His teaching is built on a single contrarian idea: that drawing can be trained like a sport, through short, deliberate daily “drills” that build real control of the hand. Through his courses, a 50,000-member community, and The Art Coach Podcast, he has guided tens of thousands of artists from frustration to fluency. Alongside the teaching, Anetsberger maintains an active fine-art practice; his current “Unnatural” Series (2024–present) uses silhouetted human figures set against dense natural landscapes to explore our paradoxical separation from the natural world.
